Since the start of her career, Kate Van Hooser has made a name for herself as a zealous advocate for her clients, whether they are in the middle of a highly contested divorce or a child who is the subject of a removal action by the Department of Social Services. She concentrates her practice on family and divorce law, including all aspects of child custody, visitation, support, and property distribution.
Kate routinely appears before the courts in Prince William, Fairfax, Alexandria, Stafford, and Fredericksburg. She has successfully represented clients with multi-million dollar business and property interests, as well as those navigating international custody and visitation issues. As a former certified Guardian Ad Litem for both children and incompetent adults, Kate brings the perspective of someone who has worked from inside the system as well as outside it.
Though a self-described "military brat," Kate has called Northern Virginia home since the early 1990s. She graduated from Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School and the University of Virginia, then earned her Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Health Law from Saint Louis University School of Law. She lives in Fairfax County with her husband and two children. When she is not working, she can be found coaching her children's sports teams, traveling, or baking.
"A skilled negotiator and an experienced litigator in the courtroom, who handles each family law case with compassion and dedication."
